HUNTRESS OF THE MIST
About the Book
HUNTRESS OF THE MIST
In the hidden elven realm of Trasmuntanyia, beyond the mountains and mist that have kept her people concealed for millennia, Lady Aelynthi bears a name whispered with equal parts reverence and dread: Huntress of the Mist. Given in memory of her bondmate — the fierce Shadowcat who was once her second heart, her second mind — the title marks her as the deadliest of her kind and commander of an army she never wanted to lead. When war comes, it falls to her to hold back an enemy her people can never afford to let discover them.
Across the vast lakes and impassable jungle known to humans as the Green Hell, the Janshai — a young, restless race whose whole nature seems bent toward conquest — edge closer to secrets the elves have guarded since before humankind first set foot on Onavyia’s shores. Aelynthi’s strategy is as merciless as it is brilliant: win every battle in such a way that it looks like defeat, and vanish from human memory entirely. Behind the mist and the mountains, victory and vanishing must become the same thing.
Far to the east, in the sunbaked west of Ferrador, half-brothers Gaubert Bane and Viriatus play a far more dangerous game — one of quiet alliances, buried secrets, and a garrison command entrusted to precisely the wrong man. When three mysterious strangers surface in their lands, the fragile peace both worlds have built on secrecy begins to unravel, and bodies begin to pile up, two realms that were never meant to meet are drawn toward a collision neither can survive unchanged.
Huntress of the Mist is a story of duty carried at unbearable cost, of a bond so deep that the grief for it can never heal, and of the razor’s edge between mercy and ruthlessness that any leader must learn to walk. As the elves’ long game of deception draws tighter and the ambitions of men grow bolder, Aelynthi must decide how much of herself she is willing to sacrifice to keep her people hidden — and how long a secret this perilous can possibly survive.
Book Two of The Chronicles of Onavyia plunges deeper into a world where every alliance carries a price, and where the line between hunter and hunted was never as clear as either side believed.

A Bond That Outlives Death
Named for a bondmate she lost centuries ago, Lady Aelynthi carries her fallen companion’s memory into a war her people cannot afford to lose. As an ancient secret and a new threat collide across the mist-shrouded lands of Onavyia, one warrior must decide how much of herself she’s willing to sacrifice to protect what remains hidden.
Meet the Characters of Huntress of the Mist
From a war commander bound by grief to half-brothers caught in a dangerous game of secrets, the world of Onavyia is shaped by those bold enough to shoulder its weight. Meet the warriors, rulers, and rivals whose choices will decide the fate of two hidden realms.
Aelynthi
Aelynthi is a formidable elven warrior with a mysterious past and a deep bond to Huntress of the Mist, a shadowcat, her beloved sister of heart and mind. Despite her bondmate’s death, her spirit and powerful magic live on, inside Aelynthi guiding her steps. Thrust into an unwanted, despised war, whose true goal lies far beyond victory or defeat, she must navigate a delicate balance between slaughter and mercy, while keeping her real purpose hidden. Her journey is one of sacrifice, undying loyalty, and the ultimate price of survival.
Viriatus
Viriatus, the quiet yet competent tutor of Tsavo, is Gaubert Bane’s bastard brother, cut from the same cloth, and just as capable. Intelligent, cultured and kind-hearted, his views often clash with his brother’s, and their goals are not always the same. Viriatus has his own dreams, and treads his own path. Though when it comes to protecting their family and people, he is just as devoted and equally ruthless. Beneath the mild exterior lies a deeply loyal, but dangerous man.
Tybalt deGrey
Tybalt is the youngest son of Merek deGrey, lord of Red Tower, though an average fighter and only seventeen, he finds himself the commander of an army. Tall, pale and ribbon-thin, with a slight build, his chilling and ruthless visage hides a lonely sad boy, on whose thin shoulders rests the fate of his entire family. His prestigious position, is no mark of favour, but a sword hanging over his head. In the game of power youth, naiveite, or having a conscience are only weaknesses to be exploited.
Shadow
Shadow is a fierce and magical companion to the young boy known as Little One. Being a shadowcat, Shadow embodies raw strength, cunning, and ferocity, making him both protector, guide and predator. His bond with Little One goes far beyond the physical, or mental, tied to an ancient magic neither fully understands. Shadow is a symbol of the wild, untamed forces of Onavyia, embodying freedom, ruthlessness and survival at its core.
Wise One / Keeper
The Wise One, or Keeper, is the last living elf who was once a Bondbearer. Her mind broken by grief and madness, is a labyrinth of ancient knowledge, elven traditions and the weight of centuries. Released from her bond, she dwells at Arun where she is kept isolated and guarded. Few, if any are ever admitted to her presence and none can say for certain, what she might know or may have forgotten. Powerful and vastly skilled, she is also highly unpredictable and dangerous, as she is quite mad.
Captain Roderick
Roderick is a captain of the garrison at BrightStar, in service to Casar Bane. A veteran of countless scraps who has seen war more than once, he’s a loyal, old hand and capable soldier. Born and bred in the West he embodies many of the westermen’s qualities, simple and plain of speech, he is a hard, no-nonsense man, used to living in the harsh and unforgiving West. A solid man, used to obey orders, but also capable of thinking for himself when push comes to shove.
